THE Superior Court has released to a third-party custodian a terminated cook earlier arrested for beating up a woman at knifepoint in Garapan, Thursday night.
Associate Judge Perry Inos set a $2,500 cash bash and $22,500 in unsecured bond for Guo Hui Pan, 45, who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, assault, and assault and battery.
Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo earlier set $50,000 bail for Pan, of Lower Navy Hill, and ordered his arrest for beating up Song Yang, 30.
Yang suffered bruises and swelling to her facial cheek area, and was released after treatment at the Commonwealth Health Center, police said.
On Dec. 8, at about 10:30 p.m., police responded to a reported incident in process at the 99 cents Super Market in Garapan, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman PO2 Eric F. David.
Police learned that Yang was standing outside the establishment when Pan came up to her and started punching her on the face.
Armed with a knife, Pan threatened to kill Yang for causing his termination, according to Detective Jackson Jack.
Police said Pan was spotted near the Abyss Restaurant where he was arrested on Dec. 10.
